    Urumqi

Arrive in Urumqi in the early morning and check in to your hotel for a well-deserved rest. Once refreshed, head to the iconic International Grand Bazaar — one of the largest bazaars in Central Asia and a vibrant showcase of Uyghur culture. Browse through colourful stalls filled with fine textiles, hand-crafted souvenirs, traditional musical instruments, and mountains of fragrant dried fruits. As evening falls, make your way to the lively Halal Food Street for a memorable introduction to authentic Uyghur and Muslim Hui cuisine — think sizzling lamb skewers, hand-pulled noodles, freshly baked nang bread, and more. A perfect first full day in Xinjiang.

This morning, set out toward the breathtaking Dushanzi Grand Canyon (also known as Anjihai Grand Canyon) — a stunning natural wonder carved by millennia of wind and water erosion. Dramatic red-orange canyon walls plunge into deep valleys, with rivers threading through the gorge below. The scenery is so vivid and otherworldly it feels like stepping into a landscape painting. Take your time exploring the canyon at a leisurely pace and enjoy a photo session at the most scenic viewpoints. Afterwards, continue to the town of Jinghe for the night.

Jinghe — Sayram Lake — Guozigou Bridge — Yining

Today's journey is one of the most scenic of the entire tour. Begin with a visit to Sayram Lake — widely regarded as the jewel of Xinjiang. This high-altitude alpine lake sits at over 2,000 metres above sea level, its impossibly blue waters encircled by the snow-capped peaks of the Tianshan mountain range. The view is simply extraordinary. Continue to the remarkable Guozigou Bridge, a cable-stayed engineering feat spanning a dramatic mountain valley — a perfect photo stop before arriving in Yining. This charming city has a strong Kazakh ethnic character and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Spend the evening exploring Liuxing Street, known for its glowing neon lights and unique local cafés.

    Nalati Grassland

Today is dedicated entirely to the magnificent Nalati Grassland — consistently ranked among Asia's most stunning alpine meadows and a true highlight of any Xinjiang itinerary. Rolling emerald hills stretch endlessly beneath wide open skies, framed by snow-capped mountain peaks that lend the entire scene a distinct Swiss Alpine quality. Breathe in the cool, fresh mountain air, take in the sweeping panoramas, and let the peaceful rhythm of nomadic grassland life wash over you. Overnight in a traditional village camp on the grassland — a unique and unforgettable experience.

Nalati — Mengkete Ancient Road — Yining

Described by travellers as a truly 'healing' scenic journey, today's drive along the Mengkete Ancient Road is one of the most memorable experiences of the tour. This historic route was used by nomads for centuries as they moved their herds between seasonal pastures, and the landscape it traverses is nothing short of spectacular — open grasslands, crystal-clear mountain streams, and snow-capped peaks stretching to the horizon. Pause mid-journey for a relaxed open-air grassland picnic — a chance to slow down, breathe in the pure mountain air, and simply enjoy the beauty of your surroundings. The area operates shuttle vehicles (14-seater and 23-seater), allowing for a comfortable, panoramic journey through the landscape. After the picnic, return to Yining for the evening.

This morning, explore the fascinating Kazanqi Village — a living cultural showcase of Uyghur and Kazakh heritage. Wander through streets lined with vibrantly decorated architecture, browse stalls of traditional arts and crafts, and observe authentic local customs that have been preserved across generations. It is one of the most culturally immersive stops on the entire tour. After soaking in the village's warm atmosphere, board your private VIP coach and continue northeast toward Kuytun. The drive offers pleasant views of Xinjiang's varied countryside — a fitting close to a day rich in culture and colour.

    Kuytun — S101 Highway — Urumqi

Today features one of Xinjiang's most celebrated scenic drives — the S101 Highway, famous for its extraordinary rainbow-coloured mountain layers. As the coach glides through this dramatic corridor, the mountainsides reveal layer upon layer of vividly striped geological strata in shades of red, orange, purple, and gold. It is a photographer's dream and a genuinely awe-inspiring sight. Make a stop at the Rainbow Café for a welcome rest, coffee, and photos (café expenses at your own cost) before continuing toward Urumqi. Arrive in the regional capital with time for shopping and leisure in the city. Transfer to the airport in the evening and board your overnight flight home.
